| ARIAGA PRADA
|
So says Ariaga Prada who started his career working in
a Fox Photo Lab on Hollywood Boulevard. One day opportunity knocked
and her name was "Dixie."
Ariaga recalls: She came into the store and she was all hoochied out and I knew she was a stripper or a dancer or something. Anyway, she asked me to do photos of her. I talked her into letting me shoot in black and white really bizarre shots. High contrast. She hated them. Those photographs won Ariaga the Kodak Amateur Photographer contest of 1998. |
Ariaga: I went back and took some color pictures of Trixie on
her Harley and she loved those. When she got married, she called
Buzzie Productions to videotape her wedding, only she made sure that I
was the guy operating the video camera. I shot her wedding and got
an offer to be a regular employee at the company.
It was at Buzzie Productions that Ariaga teamed with Reynolds Portman and at the Bar Mitzvah of a celebrity's son that the two of them hooked up with Armand Cognoscenti. About the new partnership with Drew and Elaine Ariaga says: I
smelled money.
